About the work unit / facility
Central Sterilising Department (CSD) provides decontamination and sterilisation of instruments and trays used within the Operating Theatres, wards/hospital departments, and external clients. CSD also supports other CSDs within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).

- Salary range: $35.92 to $38.12 p.a. (Nurse Grade 3)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
The Enrolled Nurse (EN) provides patient/client-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for practice. They must also demonstrate responsibility and accountability for nursing care provided.
Requirements:
- Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Mandatory for Central Sterilising Department: Successful completion of Certificate III in Sterilisation from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent. If qualification has not been completed, the successful applicant will have 12 months to complete the qualification as a condition of their employment.
- Highly Desirable: Evidence of completion of modules related to medication administration and peripheral intravenous therapy.
- On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
